Lovely Laem Singh Beach

During your stay at Kata Ocean View Residences, we highly recommend that you get out and explore all that Phuket has to offer, which includes all of the beaches that dot the coasts of the island. One of Phuket’s favourite “hidden” beaches is called Laem Singh Beach, and trust us, you will definitely want to spend a day there.

Hidden little gem

Laem Singh Beach is located on Phuket’s west coast. “Hidden” between Kamala and Surin beaches, Laem Singh itself is quite small; the beach is perhaps about 150 meters. Nestled below a prominent headland, it is a bit of trek to get down to Laem Singh Beach and obviously, an even bigger climb to get back up. However, both the beach and the views below are rewarding.

Loads of tall green trees line the backdrop of the beach while large boulders jut out from the waters. During the high season which runs from mid-November to late April, the water here is clear and calm which makes it one of the most popular beaches for tourists as well as locals and expats. Throughout the duration of the high season, the beach can seem a bit crowded but please don’t let that stop you from visiting as Laem Singh Beach truly is a little slice of paradise.

Know before you go

If you plan to head to Laem Singh Beach for the day, we recommend that you take a few bottles of water with you as well as a few snacks to satisfy your hungry appetite throughout the day. Sometimes there are beach vendors at Laem Singh Beach, but always best to be prepared. Another thing to keep in mind before you head off to Laem Singh Beach is that parking is limited. There are a few spots at the top of the headland that can fit a number of scooters and few cars, however, often times there is a parking fee of at least 50 Thai baht, and generally, a fee of 100 Thai baht needs to be paid to enter Laem Singh Beach. The best piece of advice that we can offer is for you to pay both the parking and the entry fee and then head down to Laem Singh Beach to enjoy your day.

Getting there

Depending on traffic, heading to Laem Singh Beach from Kata Ocean View Residences can take anywhere from 35 minutes to nearly one hour. Remember, Laem Singh Beach is located on the coastal road between Kamala and Surin beaches. Most taxi and tuk-tuk drivers will know where the beach is located. If you are driving a motorbike and cannot find it, stop and ask any of the locals and chances are they will give you directions with a smile!

If you are curious about Laem Singh Beach or any other of the topics highlighted on our blog, please speak to one of our friendly guest relations staff members.
